MY DESIGN IDEAS

LOOK AND FEEL

It's important for any 'product' in the twenty first century to be modern, contemporary and have the feel and look about it that will make the younger generation buy into it. With Lucid dreams I want to keep the idea sleek, clean but fun too. 

I have already played around with the logo which I have discovered the triangle which I think represents lucid dreams down to a tee. 

I was struggling to see a concept of a way of communicating Lucid dreams to the audience without make it a cliche dreamy coloured style, however I think my idea is coming along. Below are examples of at what stage I am at the moment:


Above would be a rotating circular pattern acting almost like a 'hypnotist' - Lucid dreams happen when you control the brain, so the circle is a representation of the mind as well as the fact you have to use circles too (which i will touch on later). As you can see at the bottom appears the triangle monogram.


Once the circle has spun round, it will dissolve into a black circle with something in which you can't do in reality but would love to do. This example is flying. The idea here is that on the picture that appears will depend on who you are and what interests you have..


Then the strapline will appear 'discover the possibilities of dreaming'.


The ending is a little unfinished, the name 'lucid dreams' will appear, and I also want the advertisement for the app to be on here too. So - I think I will have lucid dreams appear at the top and the app appear in the centre, with the name so the consumer can download it.

These 'digital' posters would be used on billboards/bus stops where there is electric.

My next thoughts are what do I my 'service' to look like? 

The idea is that the service provides you to have the opportunity to experience your ultimate thrill.

EXPERIMENTING WITH FONTS



CHOSEN FONT: DENSE - LOOKING AT THE TYPOGRAPHY THERE WAS SOMETHING I LOVED ABOUT THE FORM OF THE LETTER 'A'. I CUSTOMISED IT TO MAKE A TRIANGLE, WHICH LOOKS AESTHETICALLY PLEASING AS WELL AS HAS A MEANING BEHIND DREAMING. IT ACTS AS ALMOST A 3 POINT CROSS ROAD - WHERE THERE IS SOMEONE STOOD IN THE MIDDLE, WITH A ROAD TO THE LEFT OF RIGHT - REALITY AND FANTASY. I THINK THIS TRIANGLE IS AN APPROPRIATE SYMBOL FOR 'LUCID DREAMS'. BELOW I HAVE EXPERIMENTED WITH THE TRIANGLE ON THE BACKGROUND, HOWEVER I FEEL IT LOOKS TOO BUSY AND TAKES THE PURPOSE AWAY.




SIMPLE TYPOGRAPHY IN A DREAMY COLOUR.


BLACK AND WHITE IS SO EFFECTIVE. 'LUCID DREAMS' LOGO. SIMPLE AND GETS TO THE POINT. THE SLOGAN 'DISCOVER THE POSSIBILITIES OF DREAMING' TELLING THE AUDIENCE THERE IS MORE TO DREAMING THAN JUST 'DREAMING'. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN THE TRIANGLE AS A SMALL SYMBOL TOWARDS THE BOTTOM.




WITH THE BELOW IDEAS I HAVE INCORPORATED COLOUR AND MORE TRIANGLES. I WANT TO CREATE A KIND OF KALEIDOSCOPE EFFECT - NOT ONLY WILL THIS KIND OF 'MESMERISE' PEOPLE INTO LOOKING BUT IT ALSO IS A KIND OF HYPNOSIS WHICH RELAXES THE MIND (YOU NEED TO BE IN A RELAXED STATE OF MIND TO BE APART OF LUCID DREAMING).












BELOW I AM BEGINNING TO THINK OF WHAT MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS I WOULD PUT IN PLACE. IN AN EVER INCREASING DIGITAL WORLD, I BELIEVE VIDEO POSTERS/BILLBOARDS/WEBS/APP ARE MOST EFFECTIVE. MY IDEAS FOR THIS IS THAT THEY WOULD BE A LANDSCAPE ELECTRONIC VIDEO BILLBOARD. THE TYPE AT THE TOP WOULD PROBABLY STAY STILL AND THE TRIANGLES AT THE BOTTOM MAY MOVE. THE THREE CIRCLES IN THE MIDDLE WOULD BE DOING A KIND OF KALEIDOSCOPE EFFECT WHICH PRODUCES NUMEROUS SHORT AND SWEET SENTENCES TO SIMPLY EXPLAIN 'TAKING CONTROL WHEN YOU DREAM ALLOWS YOU TO EXPERIENCE YOUR ULTIMATE THRILLS'.










ON THE ELECTRONIC BILLBOARD I WOULD HAVE TO PROMOTE THE WEBSITE AND OR APP TO GIVE THEM A CALL TO ACTION SO THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT.



BELOW I THOUGHT ABOUT MERGING THE THREE CIRCLES INTO A BOX WHICH WOULD COME UP WTH THE STRAP LINE 'DISCOVER THE POSSIBILITIES OF DREAMING' AND THEN THE NAME 'LUCID DREAMS' AND THE WEB/APP DOWNLOAD.





MY NEXT STEPS FROM HERE IS TO THINK ABOUT THE PROCESS OF THE WEBSITE AND THE APPLICATION. I LOVE THE KALEIDOSCOPE IDEA AND THE TRIANGLE SYMBOL BECAUSE THEY BOTH HAVE MEANING TOWARDS THE 'SERVICE' AND I THINK THAT'S IMPORTANT.

THE WEBSITE WOULD ENABLE THE USER TO DOWNLOAD THE APP, AND MAYBE HAVE A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT LUCID DREAMING.

THE APPLICATION  WOULD PROVIDE A SERVICE FOR THE USER TO GIVE TIPS AND HINTS ABOUT HOW TO LUCID DREAM, GIVE THEM A REALITY CHECK ETC..

ARE YOU DREAMING?

Trying to brand 'are you dreaming?'.

The brief - to get the public to volunteer to risk their lives for the ultimate thrill. At this stage of my thoughts, I have made another slight twist to the way the brief is perceived. 

Lucid dreaming is something which a lot of people think is dangerous, because if you become too fascinated you start to question what is reality and what is a dream.

However, lucid dreaming is actually perfectly safe.

THE IDEA

At the moment the majority of the public believe lucid dreaming is dangerous. This is not true. Lucid dreaming can allow you to conquer your fears, teach you new skills, make you a more confident person and even allow you to choose what fantasies you want to act out in your 'virtual world' - what is not thrilling about this??

LUCID DREAMING

A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. Typically this happens when something strange happens to the dreamer and they stop to question the reality, and realise it is a dream.

There are so many benefits to lucid dreaming. You can take on a completely new life in lucid dreams - free of all your inhibitions, fears and improve your confidence so you can do absolutely anything. This also has a very positive impact on the persons waking life..

Lucid dreaming is a fascinating experience. The realism is shocking, yet you are in a completely safe and controllable environment. You can face your fears, enhance your creative problem solving skills and improve your confidence and practice new skills. 

As well as all these there is an enormous fun that comes from playing within your own virtual reality dream world and how it relates to your own subconscious mind. So your dreams become a playground for profound personal growth and insights. 

Then there is the obvious benefit: pure wish fulfilment - act out your fantasies in full colour...
